The Minnesota School of Piano Technology offers two course options:
OPTION #1 is a 12-week, 60-hour beginner’s course that meets in a classroom setting and is licensed by
the State of Minnesota. It is held weekly on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Some of the many topics students
learn include: tuning, tuning theory, regulating, repairs, restringing, installation of a humidity control system, how to
order and work with suppliers, along with helpful hints for practical business skills. This program option is offered in the
spring and fall of each year. The spring session is held in February, March and April. The fall session is held in September,
October, and November. The cost for the class is $4,575.86 which includes tools and supplies. The fee must be paid in full
the first day of class. ( Click here to view our "refund policy".)

OPTION #2 is a one-on-one course. The student studies with the instructor for an
agreed upon number of hours and meeting times.* The total classroom time is normally 60 hours (hours of training can
be more or less than 60 hours depending on the needs of the student and is charged on a per hour basis). The student
may start this class at any time, depending on the availability of the instructor.* The class is offered on weekdays, any
time from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The individual student will determine days and hours with the instructor according to their
mutual availability. The same skills will be taught as outlined in Option #1 above. The cost for the class is $12,930.58
which includes tools and supplies. The same refund policy as option #1 above applies to the one-on-one
instruction.
* For those commuting from out of state, they may wish to make arrangements to complete
the class in a more condensed time period depending on the availability of the instructor.
